The GPO currently has in excess of 10,000 registered contractors which are authorized and able to bid on GPO work. However, less than 1,500 have accessed at least 1 job in the past year. With the GPO pie being in excess of $470 Million Dollars, last fiscal year:
- Less than 100 contractors split about 50% of the pie
- Less than 300 contractors split about 40% of the pie
- And over 800 contractors split about 10% of the pie
The main reason for this is due to the fact that most contractors do not have access to Bid Solicitations specific to their needs. Less than 300 contractors are currently using a bid service to access GPO Bid solicitations, which is the main reason why last year over 1100 contractors were only awarded 1 or 2 jobs from the GPO.
